A note from Danny and Isabel –
As we begin our fourth year and reflect on the more than 165 concerts we've presented since opening in September 2023, we are filled with gratitude! Together, we've built something truly special in the Hudson Valley, and we're thrilled that so many have embraced The Local as a place for extraordinary musical discovery and community building.
When Danny and I—both Saugerties residents, longtime friends, colleagues, and music producers—rented the Chapel and funded the renovations to create The Local, we had no way of knowing whether our vision would resonate. We set out to build more than a concert venue. We wanted to create a welcoming gathering place where music and culture from around the world and around the corner would bring people together. At a time when so much pulls us apart, we believed live performances could strengthen community, inspire curiosity, and create connections.
To continue building this vision, we need your help.
If The Local has enriched your life, introduced you to unforgettable artists, inspired your curiosity, or simply become a place where you feel at home, we hope you'll consider becoming a member. Your support helps ensure that The Local remains an independent, adventurous home for music, culture, and community in the Hudson Valley and allows us to plan boldly, take artistic risks, and keep ticket prices accessible.
Since opening, we've welcomed artists from more than forty countries, presented the Hudson Valley's most celebrated musicians, internationally acclaimed jazz, blues, rock, indie and experimental artists, launched a free monthly concert series, hosted more than fifty community events, and generated an estimated $800,000 in economic activity for our local economy. We also created a residency program in Woodstock that invites guests from around the world to experience the beauty and creative spirit of our region at no cost.
The Local has become a year-round destination, bringing audiences to Saugerties in every season—including the quieter months—supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and welcoming an incredibly diverse community of residents and visitors. In August 2025, we became a 501c3 nonprofit, a milestone that reflects our commitment to ensuring this work continues for years to come.
Building a new, independent cultural nonprofit is exciting and challenging. Every concert is made possible through a combination of ticket sales and charitable support. Ticket revenue alone cannot cover the cost of presenting world-class artists, paying them fairly, keeping performances affordable, paying our dedicated staff, and caring for this remarkable space. At the same time, funding for the arts is becoming increasingly competitive, with public and private resources shrinking while demand continues to grow.
Every contribution—at whatever level is meaningful to you—helps sustain this work and is deeply appreciated. As a nonprofit organization, your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We welcome and encourage contributions from DAFs, details at the bottom of the membership page.

Thank you so very much.
